Trailer Repair Shop & Road Service — Dallas, TX

Trailer Repair

Brakes that drag, lights that quit at the scale house, a landing gear that won’t crank, a roll-up door off its track. Trailer trouble never picks a good time, so our Dallas shop is set up to fix it fast. Bring it to our bay on Irving Blvd, or call and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s a roadside fix or a shop job. Same crew since 2011.

What Does Trailer Repair Include?

Trailer repair covers everything that keeps a semi-trailer safe, legal and rolling: air brakes and air lines, lights and wiring, doors and floors, landing gear, suspension, tires and wheel ends, plus welding for cracks and damaged structure. At Bawa’s Truck & Trailer Repair in Dallas, TX, we handle all of it in our shop or on the roadside, for dry vans, flatbeds, tankers, dump trailers, car haulers and more.

Most trailer breakdowns start as a small part that gets ignored: a worn slack adjuster, a corroded pigtail, a leaking gladhand. We look for the real cause, tell you what we found, and fix it properly so you’re not back at the same spot two weeks later.

Our Story

Trailer Work From People Who’ve Been Under Them Since 2011

Bawa’s started in 2011 with a simple idea: drivers don’t need a sales pitch, they need the trailer fixed and a straight answer about what’s wrong. Fifteen years on, we’re still in Dallas, still treating every trailer, whether it’s one owner-operator’s dry van or a whole fleet’s yard, like it’s the only one waiting.

Trailers rarely get attention until something fails: a door that won’t latch, brake lights that die on I-35E, a landing gear that won’t crank at the dock. We built our trailer side for exactly those moments, with welders ready for the cracks and techs who know where to look first.

What We Fix

Trailer Repairs, From Landing Gear to Rear Doors

These are the repairs that come through our bay and our road service truck most often.

  • Brakes & Air Systems

Air leaks, dragging brakes, weak stopping power. We service brake chambers (Type 30/30), slack adjusters and S-cams, and repair air lines and gladhands. On a trailer, brakes are a safety call, so we check the whole circuit, not just the part that failed.

  • Lights, 7-Way & Wiring

Dead marker lights, a flickering stop lamp, a pigtail that quit. We repair 7-way plugs and pigtails, replace LED or incandescent lighting, splice wire and trace shorts fuse by fuse.

  • Doors, Floors & Welding

Roll-up and swing door latches, hinges and cables, roof seam patches and floor patches. Mobile welding and fabrication for cracks, broken brackets and damaged structure.

  • Landing Gear, Suspension & Tires

Landing gear cranks, legs and cross-shafts. Air bags, height control valves, torque arms and leaf springs. Tire repair and replacement, plus wheel-end work.

FAQ

Trailer Repair Questions, Answered

How much does trailer repair cost in Dallas?

It depends on the trailer, the parts and the labor, so we won’t quote blind. Call +1 (214) 400-4228 with the trailer type and what it’s doing, and we’ll give you a clear estimate and tell you what’s urgent and what can wait before any work starts.

Do you repair trailers in your shop or on the road?

Both. Bring the trailer to our shop at 4700 Irving Blvd #200 in Dallas, or call for road service. Tires, air lines, lights, 7-way plugs, doors and landing gear can often be fixed right where the trailer is parked. Bigger jobs, like major welding or suspension work, are usually better done in the bay, and we’ll tell you which is which.

What types of trailers do you work on?

Dry vans, curtainsiders, furniture vans, flatbeds, step decks, lowboys, extendable flatbeds, liquid and dry bulk tankers, dump trailers, hopper bottoms, car haulers, logging trailers, live-floor trailers and container chassis. If it rolls behind a tractor, call and ask.

My trailer lights are out. How fast can you fix them?

Most lighting problems are quick jobs: a bad 7-way plug, a worn pigtail, a burned-out bulb or LED, a spliced wire, or a short we trace fuse by fuse. Call ahead, tell us what works and what doesn’t, and we’ll tell you the soonest we can look at it.

Can you fix trailer brakes and air leaks?

Yes. We repair air lines and gladhands, and service brake chambers (Type 30/30), slack adjusters and S-cams. Because trailer brakes are a safety system, we check the full circuit instead of just replacing the one part that failed.

Can you repair trailer doors, floors and landing gear?

Yes. That includes roll-up and swing door latches, hinges and cables, roof seam patches, floor patches, and landing gear cranks, legs and cross-shafts. We also do welding and fabrication for cracked or damaged structure.

Can you fix what my trailer failed on at a DOT inspection?

We repair the common defect items, such as lights, brakes, air lines, tires and suspension components, so the trailer can be re-checked. Commercial trailers are generally required to have a periodic inspection at least every 12 months, and drivers are expected to do a pre-trip check before driving. If you were written up, bring the report and we’ll go through it with you.

Do you tow trailers?

No, we don’t provide towing. We bring the repair to you, and if a trailer does have to be towed, we can help with towing prep, such as pulling axle shafts or chaining up a damaged suspension.

Which Dallas–Fort Worth areas do you serve?

Our shop is in Dallas, and we serve Irving, Fort Worth, Arlington, Garland, Mesquite, Grand Prairie, Plano, Carrollton, Lancaster and the surrounding DFW area. Call with your location and we’ll tell you what we can do.

What are your hours, and can I leave a trailer overnight?

We’re open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and closed Sunday. Overnight parking is available, so call ahead and we’ll confirm space.
