What Is Truck Computer Diagnostics?
Modern heavy-duty trucks run on a network of electronic control modules: engine, transmission, brakes and ABS, aftertreatment, body and more. When one of them sees something out of range, it stores a fault code and often lights a warning on the dash. Computer diagnostics means reading those codes, understanding how they relate to each other, and testing the circuit, sensor or component behind them.
That last part matters. A code tells you where to start looking; it doesn’t name the broken part. A sensor code can come from the sensor, the wiring, a corroded connector, or a real problem the sensor is only reporting. Checking before replacing is what keeps a diagnostic visit from turning into a pile of parts you didn’t need.
Our Story
Why Drivers Bring Us the Hard Ones
Bawa’s has been working on trucks and trailers in Dallas since 2011. Plenty of our warning-light calls come in after the first shop, or a truck stop, couldn’t sort the problem out. One driver wrote on Google that his ABS had gone out, that TA and Love’s couldn’t fix it, and that we got him back on the road.
We can’t promise every fault is a quick one. What we do is find the real cause, tell you what we found in plain words, and let you decide what happens next.

What We Do
What We Diagnose
Heavy-duty trucks first, with trailer ABS and electrical faults handled too.
-
Check Engine & Engine Faults
We read the engine fault codes, then test the sensors, wiring and connectors behind them. Derates, rough running and power loss are all fair game.
-
ABS & Brake Warnings
ABS and brake lights on tractors and trailers. Wheel speed sensors, tone rings, wiring and the ABS module get checked in turn.
-
Electrical & Lighting Faults
Intermittent lights, blown fuses, bad grounds and charging problems. We trace the circuit instead of swapping parts until it stops.
-
Warning Lights & Limp Mode
Dash lights, derates and limp modes. We read what the truck is reporting, explain it, and tell you how urgent it is.
Why Bawa’s
Diagnosis Before Parts
-
Test, Don’t Guess
A fault code is a starting point. We confirm the cause with testing before we recommend a replacement.

Plain Explanations
We tell you what we found, what it means for the truck and what can wait, in words you can actually use.

Quick Answer
What Do Truck Dash Warning Lights Mean?
Generally, a red warning means stop and check now, and an amber one means the truck has found a problem that needs attention soon. Either way, the light only tells you something is wrong, not what. The stored fault code is where the real answer starts.

FAQ
Truck Diagnostics Questions, Answered
What does a truck computer diagnostic include?
We read the fault codes stored in the truck’s control modules, look at how the truck is behaving, and test the sensor, wiring or component behind each code. You get an explanation of the cause and an estimate before any repair work starts.
Can you diagnose a check engine light on a semi truck?
Yes. Call +1 (214) 400-4228 with the truck, the symptoms and any codes you have already seen, and we will tell you how to get it in.
My ABS light is on. Is it okay to keep driving?
An ABS warning can mean the anti-lock function is not working, so it is worth getting checked soon. We cannot judge it over the phone, but call us with the details and we will tell you what we would do.
How much does truck diagnostics cost in Dallas?
It depends on the truck and how deep the fault goes, so we do not quote blind. Call +1 (214) 400-4228, describe the problem, and we will give you a clear estimate before work begins.
Do you diagnose trailers too?
Yes. Trailer ABS lights and electrical faults, including lighting and 7-way connections, are part of what we handle.
Can you come to my truck?
Sometimes. Call with the location and what the truck is doing, and we will tell you whether it can be handled where it is or needs to come to the shop. If it cannot be fixed on site, we can tow it to our shop for the repair.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and closed Sunday. For anything outside those hours, call +1 (214) 400-4228.
