What Does Transmission Repair Involve?
The transmission passes engine power to the drive axles, so when it misbehaves, the whole truck feels it. Trouble shows up as hard, late or missed shifts, slipping, grinding or whining, a burning smell, leaks, or a clutch that no longer feels right. On newer trucks, a transmission warning light may come with a stored fault code.
Not every shifting problem means a big repair. The cause can be a sensor, linkage, low or tired fluid, an air or electrical issue, a clutch adjustment or something inside the unit. We diagnose first so you know which one you are dealing with.
Our Story
Diagnosis Before the Big Bill
Bawa’s has been repairing trucks in Dallas since 2011. Transmission work is where guessing gets expensive, so we start by reading the codes, checking fluid and linkage, and testing what the truck is actually doing.
Then we tell you what we found in plain words, what it should cost, and whether it is a small fix or a larger one. You decide before any repair work starts.

FAQ
Transmission Repair Questions, Answered
What are signs of a failing truck transmission?
Common signs include hard or late shifting, slipping, grinding or whining noises, a burning smell, fluid leaks, a clutch that feels wrong, and transmission warning lights. If you notice any of these, call us before it gets worse.
Do you work on manual and automated transmissions?
Call +1 (214) 400-4228 with the truck, the transmission type and the symptoms, and we will tell you what we can do for your unit.
How much does truck transmission repair cost?
It depends on the cause and the parts, which can range from a sensor or linkage fix to something bigger. We do not quote blind. We diagnose first and give you a clear estimate before any work starts.
Can you check a transmission warning light?
Yes. We read the stored fault codes and test the sensors, wiring and fluid condition behind them before recommending a repair.
Do you fix transmissions on the road?
Sometimes, for smaller issues. Call with your location and symptoms and we will tell you whether it can be handled where the truck is or needs the shop. If it cannot be fixed on site, we can tow it to our shop for the repair.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and closed Sunday. For anything outside those hours, call +1 (214) 400-4228.
